SCHOOL TOUR FEBRUARY 12, 2015 9:30 TO 11:30.  THIS IS FOR PARENTS OF NEW STUDENTS FOR NEXT YEAR TO TOUR THE BUILDING AND ASK QUESTIONS.  IF YOU THINK YOUR CHILD WILL BE ATTENDING NEXT YEAR, PLEASE COME FOR THE TOUR.  NO SIGNING-UP IS NECESSARY.

FREE PARENT EDUCATION WORKSHOPS ON SAFETY

The Adams PTA and North Beach Elementary PTA will be co-hosting two Parent Ed workshops from Savvy Parents Safe Kids. Both workshops will be held at North Beach Elementary (9018 24th Ave. NW) and are free of charge.

Free childcare also provided. 

WORKSHOP 1: Keeping Kids Safe and Keeping YOU Sane! (for all families, geared toward K-2)
Tues., Jan. 20th, 6:30-8:30 PM
Concerned about how to talk to your kids about safety? Do you know what your child needs to know at each age and stage? Join us and get the tools you need to help you make safety conversations easy and non-scary. Topics include: 
Sleepovers & Play dates
Cell phones for kids?
Home alone? Are they ready?
Talkative kids (blessing or a curse?)
Questions every adult should be asking
Teaching your child about body safety
Out an about neighborhood safety 
Safety tools: What works? What doesn’t?
Red Flags parents need to watch out for
The “Super 10” every kid should know

WORKSHOP 2: Be Keen On Your Tween's Safety! (for familes with 8-11 year old children) 
Tues., Feb. 10th, 6:30-8:30 PM.
 
Your tween is growing and wanting more independence. For parents, the tween years is a total game changer. This parenting workshop will help you become a helpful and resourceful parent to your tween. Topics include:
Cell Phones –tool or tricked out toy?
What you need to know about sleepovers
When your Tween becomes a babysitter
Staying home alone. Are they ready?
Tweens and body safety
Out & About: School and neighborhood safety 
What safety tools work and which ones don’t?
The questions every parent should be asking.

GET YOUR TICKETS--ADAMS CHOIR SINGS NATIONAL ANTHEM AT APRIL 8 MARINERS GAME!
The Adams Choir was selected this year to sing the National Anthem before the Wednesday, April 8 Mariners game  at 7:10 PM. This event is a fundraiser for the Adams choir ($3 of every ticket sold goes to the Adams Music program), and the whole school is invited. We're getting a bulk discount -- buy tickets for your grandparents, neighbors, and friends! Complete your ticket order form by March 20th and turn it in with payment to the front office; tickets will be distributed shortly before the game.
