Before and After School Activities Program (BASAP)
    NEWS FOR FALL 2018-2019
    Welcome Adams Elementary Parents!

The Before and After School Activities Program (BASAP) provides enriching activities in art, music, language, theater, sports and craft to enhance our children’s educational experience, strengthen their love of learning, add to the sense of belonging across grade levels, and encourage students to succeed while having fun pursuing new interests.

Fall listings will begin to show on our 6crickets registration page through the summer. To shop fall listings, visit our 6crickets page. Here’s the direct link:

    Family Survey Results/Updates for Fall

The survey indicated continued interest in the existing programs from this spring, so we will run current offerings again this fall, on the same days as before (see chart below to see lineup of fall programs). The only known fall updates are:

    1. We’re adding a 2nd section of Creative Coding (now also on Wednesdays), due to consistent sell-out/waitlist.
    2. Choir time-of-day is TBD for next year due to teaching schedules and the construction on I-99 affecting traffic patterns. We should hopefully know updates about this sometime in August.

    BASAP: Enrichment vs. Child Care?

As a program fueled by volunteers, BASAP provides enrichment opportunities rather than functioning as child care. This PTA organization does not have the licensing or infrastructure to serve as child care, but we are dedicated to providing a variety of extended learning and enrichment experiences to Adams students. Our robust and growing scholarship program helps to ensure that every student has access to these opportunities.

That said, knowing in advance what's available might help with planning around child care. BASAP works well in conjunction with BCC and KidsCo; childcare providers (BCC) & parent volunteers (KidsCo) pick up students after BASAP programs and walk them to their usual child care. Many parents also take turns with pickup, which also helps as an informal child care scenario. If you go this route, next fall please list your fellow pickup parents in registration, or to add new adult pickup names to the sign-out sheets, contact Anne Livingston directly at afterschoolprog@adamselementary.org.

    General Information about BASAP:

There are three eight-week sessions offered per year: Fall, Winter and Spring. Classes are offered Monday through Friday, including early release days. Classes are not offered on ‘no school days,’ but are made up during subsequent weeks. After school classes range from one hour to two hours and meet once a week.

Scholarships are available for all classes.  Please contact the school counselor to request a scholarship.

This PTA enrichment program could not be possible without an awesome team of parent volunteers. Volunteers are needed to check students in/out and observe classes. Volunteers receive up to $100 in tuition reimbursement each session. Please email if you are available to volunteer for these after school hours or would like to assist in the logistics.

Classes fill quickly, so sign up early!  Sorry, no late registrations will be accepted.

    Cancellation Policy

Cancellation policies vary by enrichment provider; refer to the provider’s page to see their policies.

In case of emergency or insufficient number of registrations, BASAP and the enrichment provider reserves the right to cancel a class and refund the participants in full.

Feel free to contact afterschoolprog@adamselementary.org with any questions, suggestions for classes or to volunteer.
