(grades 3-5)
Min 8/Max 12
3:50-5:20 p.m.
*Note: This session will be a mixed-level class for grades 3 - 5 with students being taught at their level.
Creative Coding teaches your child to code by helping them make their own custom video games! Our project-based, multi-level classes are amazingly fun yet very effective in teaching creative problem solving

AND emotional resilience. As your creative girl or boy has fun bringing their ideas to life, they iterate through the emotional cycle of Coding (idea->excitement->effort->frustration->more effort->triumph!) With our support and positive encouragement. Repeating this cycle not only builds great coders, but more importantly, develops emotional persistence that will help students enjoy taking on new challenges in all aspects of their lives.

Students new to coding will participate in the Creative Coding core curriculum, learning the fundamental elements of coding using MIT's Scratch to create their very own computer games! Students with previous Scratch experience will enjoy the Advanced Curriculum, where each day contains a unique mix of coding challenges, techniques, and hacks. Our classes are designed to be repeated an infinite number of times. As students complete a class, they go up one level, like in video games, and increase their coding skills, speed and proficiency. Many parents and educators are realizing that the benefits of learning to code at a young age extend far beyond the skill itself. Through the "brain exercise" of coding, coders build intelligence like athletes build muscles. Just as importantly, they develop stronger problem solving skills, confidence over technology, and emotional persistence.

(grades K-5)
Min 8/Max 24
3:50-4:50 p.m.
Kids will have the opportunity to learn to play their favorite songs and music on electric keyboards. Radio hits, movie and television themes are made so easy, that our participants will be playing them after the very first class! The club is a combination of keyboard piano lessons and a music learning workshop, which uses a clever visual method to teach the basics of music reading and piano playing. We've developed lots of learning games and activities designed to teach kids basic music reading skills and playing techniques, in ways that are fun, engaging, and stimulating. We want our students to stay motivated and continue to want to learn to play music, whether they like Taylor Swift, Bruno Mars,Macklemore or Beethoven. We have all the music they want. We have music from Frozen, Stars Wars, Jurassic Park, Indiana Jones, and lots more. Each participant has his/her own keyboard supplied during the class, along with headphones, and books and other materials are included.
